    You're obviously a great athlete! You undoubtedly have the "lungs" for it! But spare 2 - 3 minutes to explain to me: 1st you don't seem to have the appropriate body for middle distance running. Not at all. You're too packed. You look like an actor who's playing a role, than a real athlete! 2nd your hand movement is, at least awkward or even funny! Moving a lot latteraly, like no one has ever taught you how to run! But things about you are like you're saying I'm gonna do it, because I want it! And somehow it does happen! What is your explanation for this. Now that it is, even for you, a piece of history. Technique or ideal body is really of minor importance? At such high level of competition? If somebody just told me I would have said that this couldn't happen! Well it could... but only in the movies! Don't take me wrong I fully admire what you did! But how on earth did you manage to do it?

    I live in a region that is know for extremely hot summers which is imposible to run outside. Even in the winter the weather can vary a lot. So I think for me a treadmill is a great investment at least for summer workouts

    I’m not interested in racing exactly. I have to run a 1.5 mile fitness test once/year and that’s my only actual “race.” At my age I have to do that I’m 13:11 minutes. As a 235lbs guy that competes in strongman, weightlifting, and powerlifting, that’s not super easy for me. I run 4x’s/week with 3 outdoor runs plus I do one high intensity run on a treadmill when I do Norwegian 4x4. For someone who’s not a runner, that particular workout would be difficult to track and maintain a pace I’m trying to hit for without using the treadmill.

    I ran 29 minute 5k yesterday, my PR is 21:12 came in third . I was really sick night before, race morning felt 90 percent , never had a fever. It was tough my friend came in second and I usually beat her ever race, winner ran 24:45 . 1st place got $50 gift card , I still got $20 gift card, I was thinking if I was 100% could got first but I was happy I felt well enough to race, tough when sick 😢

    I've been racing and training with spikes on for a while and I always thought I was running faster in them but then I started video recording my 100 meter sprints and I run just as fast with spikes on as I do with normal running shoes. Why is that? Weak feet?

    I run the mile on my first year in track and my best time was 6:29. I’m the worst mile runner in my grade by only about ten seconds. I just got spikes for my meet in a couple days and I hope to get around 6:10

    There is a most efficient form for each person and nobody begins running with that form. As noted, each body is different so you must train and practice ideal forms to find yours. My 6th grade son has become a phenom but his first ever XC race his hands were by his waist while the more experienced runners run from the elbows. I explained this to him and his next race he tried it and said it made a big difference. We have been improving his form with almost every race. Steady head, eyes up, running tall instead of hunched over a bit etc. There's different form based on speed, too: sprinters don't run with the same form as Kipchoge. There's technique to learn and as a middle distance runner you should learn how to use both. Hope this all makes sense and is helpful.

    This is so inspirational. As a former collegiate 60m, 1,2,400m guy that is 27 now and just running city marathons with occasional sprint workouts to stay in shape and have fun, it’s so amazing to think back on old races and feel those moments again. That feeling you had winning the trials must’ve been incredible. Keep up the great work! Love the videos.

    Hello, I have a question as an inexperienced individual to a professional. Starting this year, I plan to study sports education and I still need a pair of shoes: 1. for the sports aptitude test (100m sprint and 3000m run) and 2. afterwards for the track and field semester. I'm still undecided whether to buy spikes (I'm leaning towards the "Puma Evospeed Distance Nitro Elite+ 2" or the "Puma evoSPEED Star 8") or to stick with regular running shoes and use my indoor shoes for the sprint. I would greatly appreciate a response.

    So say I was running a 1.5 mile and its on a track where it takes 6 full laps (including the 6th) to complete the 1.5 mile. how exactly would I go about pacing myself in terms of laps. for ex) would I start off slow and speed up gradually as I progress through the laps or maybe start out extremely fast and ease it off a bit as I go?

    • @shrankai7285
      @shrankai7285 2 місяці тому

      If you know what fitness you are in, try to aim for evenly paced laps, and go all out the last 400
